Publisher's Description:

XSearch - XSearch is a classic search tool with more features Windows Search does not provide. It works in classic way: no indexing service keeps scanning your files continuously in background.

It supports to search for files by file name, size, date time and words. Unlike in Windows Search, you can specify the exact size (Byte, KB, MB or GB), the exact date and/or time, and the different date time (Modified, Created, Last Visited).

You can specify the word or file name options such as "Any", "All", "Exact phrase", "Without" etc., and case sensitive, hexadecimal value, UTF8 and Unicode.

The HexView tool included in XSearch allows you to view files in hexadecimal, it acts like a read-only editor, and supports large files.

My company runs XP Pro on all computers. With service pac 3 loaded, the search function in windows explorer no longer works. Remove service pac 3 and it fixes the issue. With service pac 3, your search software also does not work. Any suggestions?

Very nice search routine. Exactly what I have been looking for, as I haven't figured out how to use the search routine in Windows Vista. Search works well and is easy to use. I would recommend one change in future releases: The Search button should be higher up on the screen and stationary, maybe next to the Browse button, so it will always be visible.

The first time I started to use XSearch I couldn't find how to start searching. I was quite baffled until I got the idea to scroll down the screen and then found the Search button at the bottom.

Anyway, I am quite pleased with this handy little search tool.

Just what I was looking for, Hate the search engine in Windows Vista and 7. This is a much more user friendly search. Keep up the good work.

I really like XSearch but it has a serious limitation - it doesn't search OpenOffice documents. I hope this will soon be included!

I searched a PDF file available from IBM which is a manual for Unidata, the Unidata command reference. I searched for the commands stopudt & stopud but it could only find stopud. Windows search could not find either....

It's great. I so dislike Vista's search. XSearch is small, quick, efficient.
